Overview
This educational short film answers the most common questions about Pap smears while sharing updated Canadian guidelines on screening frequency. Designed to break down barriers to understanding, it dispels stigma, increases awareness, and empowers individuals to take charge of their cervical health.
My Contribution
I directed and produced the video, guiding its creative and educational approach to ensure the information was both accurate and engaging. Collaborating with Dr. Sarah O’Connell and Dr. Louise Good, I translated complex medical guidelines into clear, approachable content that could resonate with a wide audience.
Through a combination of direct-to-camera explanations and visual storytelling, the video created a safe, relatable space to discuss a topic often shrouded in discomfort.
Impact
The video has been used as a resource to raise awareness about cervical cancer prevention in communities across Canada. Its selection for The Unmentionables Film Festival in New York City in 2015 reflects its creative and educational impact in global conversations around reproductive health.
