Ontario Health: Coordinated Access – People with Lived Experience
Scope
Interview-led documentary | Mental health storytelling | Patient experience video
Overview
As part of Ontario Health’s efforts to improve mental health and addiction care pathways, this video project focused on centering the voices of people with lived experience. We captured a series of intimate, unscripted interviews exploring personal journeys through the mental health system — highlighting both the challenges and the value of more coordinated, compassionate care.
Creative Roles
I produced and directed all video components, working in close partnership with Senior Health Communications Specialist Agnes Bongers, who conducted the interviews. My role included coordinating staging, multi-camera capture, editing, and delivering final media for use in internal and external education, stakeholder engagement, and advocacy.
Approach
This project prioritized safety, dignity, and trust. Interviews were filmed in comfortable, respectful settings with careful attention to pacing and support. By building space around each story, the videos allowed participants to speak freely — creating a grounded, human narrative that reflects the need for systems change.
